Mukashibanashi means ‘old story’ in Japanese. This story is translated from a series of children’s books.
かさじぞう, or ‘The Straw Hat Statues’, is a winter story of a poor old Grandfather and Grandmother who have nothing with which to celebrate the New Year.
The images are taken from the series 日本昔ばなしアニメ絵本; the title page and borders uses images from an animated series, ヘーベルハウス劇場 ふるさと再生 日本の昔ばなし.
